Some of the note worthy developments have been Digital Loop Carrier systems, HDSL/SDSL G.SHDSL systems, Digital Pair Gain Systems, Change Number Announcing Systems, Auto Call Distributor systems, Voice + Data Multiplexer systems, ISDN NT1, “ADSL router/modems”, Intelligent NT, ISDN PBX, networking range of products like Managed and unmanaged Switches, Media Converters, VoIP etc.

Our key strengths are Products with high demand, in-house R&D team, manufacturing expertise, in-depth knowledge of protocols, and standards from ITU & ETSI, anticipation of technology trends, knowledge of mixed signal embedded systems, and timely market entry. The focus is now set on becoming a high volume producer.

Research & Development

Telenet started as an R&D house in 1990 with a manufacturing base for commercializing the products developed by it. The technologies of some products were even licensed out to other Telecom equipment manufacturers. Having in-house R&D has been one of the greatest advantages and has helped in achieving the current position of strength.

Many note worthy developments have been in the area of CO equipment. A few of the major developments are as under :

HDSL access systems - 30 port systems over two pair and three pair
Digital Pair Gain systems - 4 port to 11 port per system

Change Number Announcing systems - 256 ports, 512 ports, 1024 port, and 2048 port systems
Auto Call Distributor systems - 8 X 8 ports to 48 X 48 port systems
Voice + Data Multiplexer systems - 4 port + data and 8 port + data systems
ISDN NT1 - Termination unit for ISDN line
ADSL PCI modem - PC based modem for ADSL line

Production

The production unit has been established at Navi Mumbai (about 60 Kms. from Mumbai), for producing through hole (or Dip) type PCBs. Automation was achieved in PCB soldering using a Wave Soldering machine. This was the prevalent technology at the time. We produced a large number of products on this line, and some of them in large volumes.

Since the year 1999, we have changed our product technology to surface mount devices (SMD). This technology helps in reducing the size of the products, and also the automation levels have increased substantially for the PCB assembly work. At present we outsource SMD based PCB assembly work. We will set up a state of the art assembly line for the SMD components to complete the infrastructure for full in-house production.

Marketing & Distribution

The business was focused within India until 1998. We are covering the Indian market by our offices at Mumbai and Delhi, and through dealer channels in various parts of the country.

The first global initiative started with exports to the USA in 1999. We now have Distribution channels. Singapore is the base for the Asia Pacific markets; agents in Hong Kong cover the Hong Kong and China markets, and Distributor in Dubai for Middle East, North Africa markets.

With the experience and achievement in getting a lot of interoperability issues solved, we offer this service to the Service Provider to solve the last mile delivery issues and get the customer up and running using the broadband service.
